Laparoscopic appendectomy for gangrenous appendicitis. Professor Puchkov K.V. is performing an operation (2018).
The operation is performed for acute gangrenous appendicitis and local peritonitis. In the film the technique of dissection of the mesentery of vermiform appendix by a 5 mm LigaSure MEDTRONIC COVIDIEN instrument and by instruments of Karl Storz Company is presented. Then its base is stitched and transected by a linear stitching MEDTRONIC COVIDIEN apparatus with the blue cassette. The preparation is removed from the abdominal cavity via a 12 mm troacar in a plastic container. Then the abdominal cavity is carefully washed off by a warm saline solution (2 liters) and is drained by a thermolabial system (Ethicon) for 1-2 days. Operation duration is 18 minutes.
