Professor, MD, clinical professor, the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Medical University Upstate and the Head of department of obstetrics and gynecology of the medical St. Joseph hospital centre.

Dr. Samuel Badalian is the Director of the Gynecology and Urogynecology Center of Syracuse, NY. He is an internationally recognized surgeon who has operated on patients from all over the U.S. and the world. Dr. Badalian maintains faculty and teaching appointment at SUNY Upstate Medical University as a Clinical Professor.

He received his MD degree in 1981 and continued his education and research by receiving a Ph.D. degree in Physiology in 1986 and a Doctor of Medical Science degree in 1990. In 1992, he completed his fellowship program at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City and continued to work at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of College of Physicians & Surgeons at Columbia University. Dr. Badalian is Board-Certified in both Obstetrics/Gynecology and Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS).

Dr. Badalian belongs to a number of professional societies, including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, in which he served as a Chair of Section 5, District II (New York State) in 2010-2013. He is a member in good standing with the American Urogynecological Society (AUGS), International Urogynecological Association (IUGA), Robert E. L. Nesbitt, Jr. Ob/Gyn Society (Secretary), and the American Armenian Health Professionals Organization (AAHPO).

In addition, Dr. Badalian served as a contributing editor and reviewer for the Journal of “Obstetrics and Gynecology” from 1995 to 2005, “Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery” and a grants reviewer for the American Urogynecological Society Foundation. He has authored many scientific journal articles, book chapters, and abstracts and is an internationally recognized lecturer and pelvic surgeon. By being an expert in pelvic surgery, he was invited on multiple occasions to perform and teach the newest technologies in pelvic reconstruction to different countries like Russia, France, Ghana, Kazakhstan, and Armenia.
