Professor Konstantin Puchkov is acknowledged to be one of the best surgeons in Russia in the field of laparoscopic surgery, gynecology, urology, coloproctology and oncology. The professor uses the newest methods in surgery in his work, including his own techniques.

The main practical trend of Professor Puchkov is elaboration and performing organopreserving laparoscopic operations (removal of cysts and tumours of ovary, kidney, spleen, the adrenal gland, liver), reconstructive plasty in case of hiatal hernia, and hernia of the abdominal wall, surgical treatment of female infertility, and treatment of benigh and malignant diseases of the urinary tract and GIT.

Professor K. V. Puchkov is the first surgeon in the world who:

  • has elaborated and introduced the technique of laparoscopic myomectomy with the temporary occlusion of the uterine arteries, giving a possibility to preserve a reproductive organ in the most complicated cases and to give a possibility to a woman to know the happiness- to be a mother (2008), he has performed more than 2,400 operations, using this technique;
  • has elaborated and performed laparoscopic removal of spleen in a pregnant patient with the hematologic crisis (1997).

Operations performed by Professor K. V. Puchkov for the first time in Russia:

  • Unique simultaneous operation - laparoscopic extirpation of uterus and right-side hemicolectomy with the anastomosis formation intraabdominally and with the extraction of the colon via vagina (January 14, 2013).
  • Unique minimally invasive surgery for retrocervical endometriosis, stage IV - laparoscopic resection of rectum and the posterior fornix of vagina with the vaginal assistance (formation of anastomosis and extraction of the colon transvaginally) (August 29, 2011).
  • Laparoscopic total coloproctectomy with the formation of the ileoanal anastomosis, using the single port (S.I.L.S. technique) (February 19, 2011).
  • Single-port simultaneous operations (according to the S.I.L.S. techniques) for the organs of the abdominal cavity and small pelvis (2009).
  • Transvaginal cholecystectomy according to N.O.T.E.S. techniques, giving a possibility to perform on operations without incisions on the anterior abdominal wall and postoperation scars on the skin (2008).
  • Laparoscopic partial resection in case of tumour of the adrenal gland (2002).
  • Laparoscopic extirpation of uterus with the anterior resection of rectum in case of infiltrating endometriosis (1997).
  • Laparoscopic and vaginal correction of pelvic prolapse (1997).
  • Unique simultaneous operation - laparoscopic extirpation of uterus and anterior resection of rectum in case of cancer with the anastomosis formation and extraction of the colon via vagina (1997).
  • Laparoscopic removal of the giant presacral cyst of the narrow pelvis (1995).
  • Laparoscopic simultaneous rectopexy and promontofixation in case of combined pelvic prolapse of rectum and uterus (1995).
  • Laparoscopic spleenectomy and spleen resection (1995).

By this moment Professor Konstantin Puchkov has performed more than 19,000 operations where all the organs of the abdominal cavity and small pelvis have been involved. Some operations have been performed , using the only puncture in the umbilical area (according to S.I.L.S. technique) or without punctures on the anterior abdominal cavity at all, but transvaginally ( according to N.O.T.E.S. technique).

The description of these operations has been published in numerous monographs and scientific articles. The author’s techniques of some operations are protected by twenty patents.
