In 1996 Antonello Forgione finished his post-graduation course of Second University of Naples (“SUN”, Italy) with Honours, after that he passed specialization on surgery of GIT and surgical endoscopy (1997-2003) at Federico II University of Naples, Italy
Then he studied additional specialization-management in the field of Public Health at L.Bocconi University in Milan in 2001-2003.
In 2001 he became a Member of the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES). European Association for Endoscopic Surgery is the main surgical association in Europe that is spreading the techniques of minimally imvasive surgery and stimulates the development of new surgical techniques. Since 2012 Professor Forgione has been the Head of the Committee, related to new techniques of European Association, rebranded into European Association for Endoscopic Surgery and other interventional techniques (http://www.eaes-eur.org/).
Within the period 2003-2005 he worked as an assistant on clinical investigations in European Institute Tele Surgery of the University Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France.
In 2003-2005 he was busy with investigations and defended his dissertation, related to new techniques for minimally invasive surgery at Frederico II University in Naples.
After finishing his scientific research work within 2 years (2005-2007) he was at the Head of Clinic of endocrine surgery and surgery of GIT at the hospital of the University in Strasbourg, France.
The next stage of Professor’s life was related to Italy.
Since 2007 Doctor Antonello Forgione has been the Head Surgeon of the department of general and urgent surgery at Niguarda Ca Granda Hospital, Milan, Italy.
In 2007 he was elected as Associated Member of European Institute Tele Surgery of the University Louis Pasteur in Strasbourg, France- www.eits.fr. He also became Visiting Professor on Surgery in Asia Institute of Telesurgery – AITS, in Taichung, Taiwan.
In 2009 Professor Forgione became a Scientific Director of the Academy of Advanced International Miniinvasive Surgery in Milan, Italy–www.aimsacademy.org. His competence included the following: planning and management of the International conferences, seminars, symposia, master-classes, telemedical conferences.
At present he is at the head of the Department of general and urgent surgery of the hospital Ospedale di Niguarda Ca Granda at Milan University, Italy. At that department they perform surgical treatment of malignant and benign diseases of GIT, obesity and metabolic diseases, hernia of anterior abdominal wall, solid organ tumours, as well as acute surgical pathology and urgent traumas. Professor Forgione has personal experience of performing more than 2,000 successful operations for the abdominal cavity in different kinds of colorectal cancer, as well as cancer of pancreas. In 2014 Professor Fordgione became Member of Ethical Committee that determined the whole of scientific and research work of the University.
Professor Forgione combines his practical work with constant education. Within the period 2009-2010 he studied business administration (MBA-Executive Global) at L.Bocconi University in Milan, Italy.
Professor Forgione is a member of the editorial board of the International journal of gastrointestinal surgery-“World Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery”.
Professor Forgione wants to introduce all his scientific inventions not only in his hospital, but in other Italian hospitals, as well. For this purpose he founded 2 scientific and research companies in 2012:
